OnRobot Announces Kyle Koelling as Area Sales Manager – Midwest

Koelling comes to OnRobot following a three year stint as a sales engineer for Cognex where he picked up hands-on automation experience across multiple industries.

Dallas, TX, September 19, 2025: OnRobot has announced the appointment of Kyle Koelling, as Area Sales Manager for the Midwest region. Koelling comes to OnRobot following a three year stint as a sales engineer for Cognex where he picked up hands-on automation experience across multiple industries.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's in business administration, Koelling's new role will see him take responsibility for further expanding OnRobot's high growth sales and distribution business in the Midwest, offering a wide assortment of tools for collaborative applications, including electric grippers, force/torque sensors, vacuum grippers, the award-winning Gecko gripping technology, robotic sanders, tool changers, and the ground-breaking D:PLOY automated application building platform. Koelling's role will also involve identifying OnRobot partners and integrators in the region that are well-placed to develop new Off-The-Shelf D:PLOY-powered solutions across multiple application domains.

"I was drawn to OnRobot because of its innovative approach to collaborative automation and its focus on simplifying robotic applications," says Koelling. "The opportunity to work with cutting-edge end-of-arm tooling and solutions such as D:PLOY that make automation more accessible really excites me."

At OnRobot, Koelling will be assisting customers in identifying automation solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency. "I look forward to building strong relationships, understanding each client's unique challenges, and demonstrating the value that OnRobot's solutions can bring," he says.

"While many companies are eager to automate, they struggle to clearly define the ROI, especially when justifying upfront costs. At the same time, ongoing labor shortages are putting pressure on operations, making it harder to maintain productivity. Automation can help fill those gaps, but companies need solutions that are easy to implement, flexible, and scalable - especially if they're new to robotics. That's where OnRobot's approach can really help lower the barrier to entry."

James Taylor, OnRobot's Chief Commercial Officer is delighted to welcome the new Area Sales Manager to the team: "We're excited to bring Kyle Koelling's expertise and enthusiasm to OnRobot's Midwestern sales channels. He is very eager to help our partners and customers expand their businesses. I'm confident Kyle will continue OnRobot's success in the Midwest and continue to expand our abilities to help more manufacturers in the region stay competitive with flexible and accessible robotic automation."

In his spare time, Koelling enjoys golf, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Boston Dynamics Webinar - Why Humanoids Are the Future of Manufacturing

Join us November 18th for this Webinar as we reflect on what we've learned by observing factory floors, and why we've grown convinced that chasing generalization in manipulation—both in hardware and behavior—isn't just interesting, but necessary. We'll discuss AI research threads we're exploring at Boston Dynamics to push this mission forward, and highlight opportunities our field should collectively invest more in to turn the humanoid vision, and the reinvention of manufacturing, into a practical, economically viable product.
